Gentem Lifelong Learning Group is proud to celebrate Dhyaksa, an INDIES member who has begun his Master’s in Automation and Control Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

After seven years of working, Dhyaksa decided to continue a study-abroad plan he had carried since finishing his undergraduate degree. One of his biggest challenges was managing the application process while still working full-time.

INDIES helped make the process more manageable by guiding him through the administrative requirements and paperwork needed to study in Italy. For Dhyaksa, this support reduced the mental load of preparing everything himself. With INDIES helping with parts of the process, he could focus more of his limited time on his CV, cover letter, university research, and other important preparations.

The support continued after he received his acceptance letter. Before leaving for Italy, Dhyaksa was concerned about adapting to a new culture, communicating with local people, and building a network. Through INDIES UniPrep, including sessions on networking and work preparation abroad, he gained a clearer idea of how to approach these situations and felt more prepared for the transition. Mentoring sessions also helped him understand what to expect from daily life abroad, from managing expenses to preparing what he would need before departure.

INDIES also continues to support Dhyaksa as he explores scholarship opportunities during his studies. This reflects INDIES’ personalised approach to study abroad: understanding each member’s situation, making the process easier to manage, and continuing the support even after university acceptance.
